Origins of The Name
Ahhh the name...
I have been asked this question so many times: "What is DizzyThermal?"
The origins of DizzyThermal is actually a two-part piece-meal.
1. In 7th grade, an acquaintance - let's call him, Sully - gave me the nick name Dizzy. This became the username that I used (or was going to use) online to protect my real identity (you're welcome Mom!).
What a great name!
Uh oh... Two problems with this name:
- Dizzy is a very common online nickname/username
- What if a form asked for a lastname?
2. I needed a lastname that I could daisy chain into a username (and use separately as a first and last name - for forms).
Good thing that I had a cool-looking Thermaltake computer case that inspired me.
Fun fact: There was actually a point in time that I alternated between Dizzy and Thermal as my Counter-Strike 1.5/1.6 username. This was mainly because Dizzy was taken in servers and I didn't want to confuse people (so thoughtful - I know).
MTH 101, ready? Good:
Dizzy + Thermal = DizzyThermal
I like it.. It's:
- Unique
- Identifiable
- {first: "Dizzy", last: "Thermal"} - Check!

Hi. Welcome back. This is my 2nd post of OTT. Glad you're up to speed on the name now!
P.S.
Sorta funny how I was preparing to enter the internet without using my real name
(or, at least, with intentions of not using it), because this became a wildly unpopular style. As I got older, people just used their real names.
Oh well, at least the: <First Name> "Nickname" <Last Name>
format is still acceptable online.
